FAQ - Häufige Fragen

Who is behind Khaya Woodware?

Khaya Woodware is a label from Utrecht in the Netherlands. Designs are created there, and manufactured in Vietnam – by experienced artisans who handcraft each piece.

What is Khaya wood?

Khaya is a robust wood with a warm, lively grain, also known as African Mahogany, and sustainably sourced. Because every grain is unique, each plate and bowl is one of a kind.

Why wooden dishes for children?

Wooden dinnerware is light, pleasant to handle, and won't break like porcelainif it falls off the table – ideal for little hands learning to eat independently. And the bear and bunny ears, with space for fruit, vegetables, or dips, make every bite exciting.

From what age are the children's plates suitable?

The children's plates in the shape of bears and rabbits are designed for children aged 3 and up. The wooden spoons accompany both children who are still being fed and all those who are already proudly eating independently.

How is the wood treated?

All pieces are finished with natural oil instead of varnish. This keeps the wood surface tangibly natural and allows it to be easily refreshed if needed.

How do I properly care for wooden tableware?

Ideally, clean by hand with warm water and a mild dish soapand dry immediately. If the wood dulls over time, simply rub it with a little cooking oil (e.g., linseed or coconut oil) – this will keep it beautiful for a long time.
